NZTrio returns to China for a record 6th time, performing a programme of much-loved classics and a commission by celebrated New Zealand composer, John Psathas.
Both versatile and genre-busting, NZTrio smashes preconceptions of classical music being stuffy and intimidating by engaging their listeners with intimate and dynamic performances. Each concert is a unique experience. Mixing musical cultures and genres, NZTrio inspires people of all walks of life to see classical music as approachable, essential and meaningful.
Violinist Justine Cormack, cellist Ashley Brown and pianist Sarah Watkins first joined forces in 2002. Their performances since have captivated music lovers throughout New Zealand, Australia, Asia, South America, the US and the UK. Recent highlights include appearances at the 2011 City of London Festival, the 2010 World Expo and 2012 New Zealand Music Festival in Shanghai, as well as further concerts in Beijing and Taiwan, New Zealand and Sydney.
