April 2011 will see the launch of The New Zealand International Piano Festival or NZIPF (formerly known as the Auckland International Piano Festival AIPF).
This exciting event will bring together five international concert pianists from all over the globe, to not only perform solo piano recitals at The Concert Chamber, Town Hall, Auckland but to also provide a supreme educational experience for New Zealand’s up and coming musicians through masterclasses.
In this concert pianist Diedre Irons performs New Zealand work by Gillian Whitehead, Tumanako: Journey through an Unknown landscape
Other pieces in this concert include works by Beethoven, Chopin and Ravel.
