Mike Nock: 50 Years of Music

Come celebrate legendary jazz composer and musician Mike Nock’s 70th Birthday with a knock out concert by the man himself.

Timed to coincide with the release of Serious Fun, a biography of Mike Nock written by Norman Meehan and published by the Victoria University Press, 50 Years in Music features Nock performing solo, with the Mike Nock Trio and with the New Zealand String Quartet. Mike has long been regarded as one of the top modern jazz keyboardists to emerge from this part of the world, and has worked with legends such as Coleman Hawkins, Pee Wee Russell, Sam Rivers and Yusef Lateef.

This concert will blend the best of jazz and chamber music, and will appeal to lovers of fine music across genres.
