ECO and SMP Ensemble present Echoes - a concert for the environment.
Environment Conservation Organisation (ECO) is the umbrella organisation for environmental groups in NZ. Together with and in support of ECO, the SMP Ensemble will present a program of works by New Zealand and international composers who admire the beauty of nature and are concerned about its fragility and our impact upon it.
The programme includes Waipoua by Gareth Farr in a new arrangement for clarinet and string quintet, along with works by Keiko Abe, Lou Harrison, Anton Killin, Dugal McKinnon, Andrzej Nowicki, David Sanders, and John Williams as well as premieres of works by Tristan Carter and Simon Eastwood.
