This concert is given as part of Palmerston North's 2010 Festival of Cultures.
Join poet and playwright Renee Liang and composers Robbie Ellis and Andrew Corrêa as they present their latest work.
Renee will perform some of her thought-provoking poetry, including some with instrumental accompaniment. Robbie will present three recent original compositions: Maeve (with pre-recorded text by Leila Austin), Drying Music, and Seven Banana Songs (song settings of Renee Liang poems), performed by soprano Frances Moore and pianist Buz Bryant-Greene. Renee and Andrew will talk about their collaboration on The Bone Feeder, a play on at The Globe as part of the Festival of Cultures, and award-winning guzheng (Chinese zither) player Xiyao Chen will present some of Andrew's original music from the play.
You are invited to stay afterwards for a tea, coffee, cake and a chat with the artists.
