New Zealand-born violinist Mark Menzies gives a recital in Alaska as part of the 2010 University of Alaska Fairbanks New Music Festival.
He has titled this programme World Belt – stops on the violin trail... with sub-sections such as An Alaskan in California and some kiwi morsels with works by composers from all around the globe: Daniel Corral (USA), Samuel Holloway, James Gardner and Helen Bowater (NZ), Mario Lavista (Mexico) Brian Ferneyhough (UK) and from Mark himself.
Mark is currently on the string faculty at the prestigious California Institute for the Arts (CalArts).
