"Expo 2010":http://en.expo2010.cn/ is an international exhibition event hosted in Shanghai, China from May until October 2010. Over this time the organisers expect 70 million visitors to view and experience exhibits from 200 countries and 50 international organisations.
New Zealand has an exhibition pavilion and various performances will be given over the Expo period. Today, July 9th, is the official New Zealand National Day at Expo 2010.
NZTrio will be performing works by John Psathas and Wayan Yudane and playing with Moana & The Tribe (contemporary fusion Maori dance and music) within a one hour show also featuring Aivale Cole (award winning NZ opera singer) and Footnote Dance (contemporary NZ dance)
[The National Youth Choir were scheduled for July 7th and the NZSO are booked for performances in October.]
Shanghai has dedicated a 5.28-square-kilometer area at the core of the city to exhibitions, events and forums on the Expo theme, Better City, Better Life. Through the Expo Shanghai hopes to build a powerful and lasting model of sustainable and harmonious urban living.
