Special guest artist Pia Palme (Vienna) will perform chamber music on a variety of recorders, including the newly developed contra-bass recorder made by Kueng of Switzerland. She will be joined by composer/guitarist Dylan Lardelli.
Pia and Dylan blend compositions for recorders, guitar and electronics into a sparkling succession of old and new music. The timeless beauty of Frescobaldi's Canzoni acts as a container for contemporary pieces. The experimental quality of the transitional period between renaissance and Baroque acts as a bridge to the music of our time: a structure that opens up hearing habits and allows for a fresh approach to both old and unusal new soundscapes.
