The Manukau Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Uwe Grodd, is proud to premiere their commission from composer-in-residence Anthony Ritchie. His sunny and life-affirming Piano Concerto No. 3 was written especially for pianist Emma Sayers, renowned for her performances of 20th century music.
Along with this 'new' musical discovery, the concert features Dvorak's New World Symphony, Mozart's Il Seraglio Overture and the Weber Clarinet Concertino Op. 26 with soloist Natalie Harris, the MSO's Phil & Helen Greenbank Scholar.
In a pre-concert talk at 6:30pm, Peter Watts will interview composer Anthony Ritchie.
