This concert is the culmination of the 2009 New Zealand Secondary Schools Symphony Orchestra course which has been running since Sunday, 19 April at Burnside High School. The orchestra will be conducted by Owen Clarke and the programme includes Douglas Lilburn's Festival Overture, Tchaikovsky's "Little Russian" Symphony, Telemann's Double Horn Concerto and a new Jazz Double Bass Concerto written & performed by young Christchurch Composer, Michael Bell.
