In this free concert from the NZSO, composer/conductor Tecwyn Evans will lead a performance of Anthony Ritchie's 'French Overture' as well as Haydn's Cello Concerto No.1 (soloist Nicolas Alstaedt) and Beethoven's Symphony No. 4.
As well as being an accomplished composer, Tecwyn Evans is now fast establishing himself as an international conductor with regular appearances at the BBC Proms, Glyndebourne, Opera North and with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra.
Cello soloist Nicolas Alstaedt, winner of the 2006 Adam International Cello Competition, plays with astonishing power and command and is armed with a fearless technique that seems to know no limitations. He made his Carnegie Hall debut in 2007.
