Biography
Joshua is currently studying towards his Bachelor's degree in composition at the University of Auckland. He has had compositions performed at the Llewellyn Jones and New Zealand Double Reed Society composition competition concerts.
Joshua has a background performing on double bass and cello and has dabbled in various other instruments throughout his life, including viola, piano, marimba and electric guitar. His current interests in composition are electroacoustic media, mixed chamber ensembles, unusual instrumental combinations and mixing other artistic mediums with music.
Joshua's major influences include Dutilleux, Takemitsu, Messiaen, the New York School, Gil Evans and genres as varied as spectralism, Baroque, art pop, jazz fusion and IDM.
