Biography
Joseph Harrop is a violinist, violist, and academic. From a large family of professional musicians and with a PhD from the Royal Academy of Music in London, Joe’s career as a performer, writer, composer and arranger began in the UK. He now resides and works in New Zealand. Joe is the Founding Director of the musical social development programme, Sistema Aotearoa, and plays in chamber ensembles Kulios and The Black Quartet, alongside freelance work. He was lucky enough to be raised on jazz music and has played Irish traditional fiddle music since he was a child.
Joe comes from a mixed German-Samoan background.
