Bruce Baker

Composer

Biography

Bruce Baker was born and educated in Auckland and has completed degrees at Auckland and Otago Universities. He has had a variety of experience as teacher, adjudicator, performer, accompanist, composer, arranger and conductor. He has written teaching books for the studio and the classroom, and has been commissioned to write or arrange music for choir or solo voice. His compositions include a cantata and a choral Eucharist. His music has been recorded, broadcast and published. He has been music director at three Auckland Churches and taught music and English at several schools. He still teaches piano, theory and English, as well as running a correspondence course diploma in music theory.
