Nigel Keay's brass trio, Triptych for Trumpet, Horn and Trombone was composed in Nelson, New Zealand in 1988 and first performed at Victoria University of Wellington in a "Sonic Boom" concert in 1991 played by Dan Williams (trumpet), Ross Harris (horn) and Marc Taddei (trombone).
The first movement is in a contrapuntal style using a constantly changing metre.
