Recently returned from a tour of Indonesia, Gamelan Padhang Moncar present a concert of new works for Javanese gamelan, an ensemble of bronze percussion and gongs. They will perform new compositions by members of the group, most of whom are current and former students of NZSM. A highlight of their tour was their performance at the Yogyakarta Gamelan Festival as one of only two international acts at the festival this year, against an amazing backdrop of video images projected onto Taman Sari (the old water palace in Yogya).

After the concert, there will be refreshments and to chance to chat to members of the group about their experiences on tour. There will also be CDs and batik shirts for sale.
