The Christchurch Symphony Orchestra include Michael Norris' From the Lonely Margins of the Sea in this concert, conducted by Marco Zuccarini. Zuccarini founded the Orchestra de Teatro Olimpico di Vicenza and in 1992 was appointed resident conductor of the OrchestraSinfonica Abruzzese.
Also on the programme are Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No. 3, featuring soloist Russian virtuoso pianist Konstantin Shamray, and Symphony No. 4 by Johannes Brahms.
