Biography

Nick Snowball is a composer and performer from Wellington, New Zealand. His work features elements of experimental-theatre, performance art, instrumental composition and mixed-media design.

Nick has worked with various international artists, including Mark Menzies, Erika Duke-Kirkpatrick, Antonia Barnett-McIntosh and recently, members of London based experimental-performance collective Bastard Assignments, for a theatrical adaptation of Gillian Bibby’s ‘Musik für drei Hörer’ premiered at the 2018 Darmstadt Summer Courses for New Music in Germany. He has participated in composition lessons and workshops with Brian Ferneyhough, Jennifer Walshe, David Helbich and Kirsten Reese.

Together with composer Marcus Jackson, he performs under INOPPORTUNE, a performance art and experimental sound focussed duo, interested in expanding the conception of experimental sound-based performance practises, and curating experiences that are novel within the framework of ‘music’. Their debut concert, ‘DEBUTANTE’, took place on July 6th, 2018, in MEANWHILE Gallery — featuring works by Constantin Basica, Simon Steen-Andersen, James Saunders, Nick Snowball, and Vinko Globokar.
