About

Riff Raff was composed in 1995 by Gary Wilby when he held the position of Composer-in-Schools based at the Wellington College of Education. The position was funded by the College and Creative New Zealand.

It was first performed by the Riff Raff Flute Trio of Onslow College at the Laings Road Methodist Church Winter lunchtime series in 1995. The players were Adrianna Simons, Jihye Kim, and Sabine Hess. They subsequently performed the piece a number of times in the Wellington region.

Although originally composed for three flutes, the five movements could be performed by almost any combination of three instruments.
