- Waiteata Collection of New Zealand Music Vol. 10 - John Rimmer: Chamber Music
The release of the tenth CD in the Waiteata Collection of New Zealand Music coincides with the 70th birthday of John Rimmer, one of New Zealand’s most distinguished composers. It includes works dating back to 1976 – his outstanding Ring of Fire which was commissioned for the London Sinfonietta – and new works such as Murumures 2 from 2000 which was premiered at an international ‘Clarinetfest’ in the United States.
These are performances by leading New Zealand and Australian musicians including the Karlheinz Company which John Rimmer founded, the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra 175 East and Lysis.
The release of this CD was made possible through the generous cooperation of Radio NZ Concert and the performers. Scores of all the works are published by Waiteata Music Press.
