CD
This CD from the Wellington-based Festival Singers exhibits a breadth of musical approaches from chant, antiphonal styles, folk, and traditional hymns to classic art songs alongside spoken reflections as they embark on a spiritual journey.
The most extensive part of the recording features Colin Gibson’s Cantata The Spirit Within, a collection of 14 settings with texts ranging from traditional Christian prayers to poems and texts by Joy Cowley, Ursula Bethell, Lauris Edmond, RAK Mason and Charles Brasch. The recording also features Jonathan Berkhan’s five movement Te Deum, for Choir and Irish Folk Band.
