The second volume in the Firestarters series features works by New Zealand composers Penelope Axtens, Ross Harris, John Psathas, and Anthony Ritchie, as well as three works by Australian composers (Stuart Greenbaum, James Ledger and Matthew Hindson). Firestarters 2 comes with an accompanying CD of performances by Emma Sayers and Michael Houstoun, contains notes about the composers and their works. It makes an excellent addition to the Australasian piano repertoire.
