She has featured with Auckland’s Karlheinz Company as a soloist and chamber musician, as a member of the Auckland Chamber Orchestra and as a performer/recording artist at the Nelson Composers’ Workshop. Anna has represented New Zealand both as a soprano in the New Zealand Youth Choir as well as a member of the National Youth Orchestra. Currently residing in Sweden, she is studying a masters degree at the Royal College of Music Stockholm under teachers Hermann Stefansson and Martin Fröst.
Excerpt from review of Auckland’s Karlheinz Company concert May 2008: “Principally, this was a chance to note the passing of the great Karlheinz Stockhausen and we were also reminded of the German composer’s stature (and sense of humour) when Anna McGregor delivered his 1977 clarinet solo In Freundschaft. Following the piece’s profuse instructions, governing every sound and gesture, McGregor gave a winning theatrical turn, with virtuoso playing as a bonus.”
