Biography

Pieta Hextall is a Wellington-based composer and musician. She plays in several groups around Wellington including Improv Noise Band, RNZAF Band and newly formed Neighbourhood Cats. Pieta completed an Honours degree at the New Zealand School of Music in 2008 and is about to start her Masters.

Pieta has had works performed and workshopped by the Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra, the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, the New Zealand String Quartet, the New Zealand School of Music Orchestra, Capital Brass, Christchurch Youth Orchestra, Gao Ping, Andrew Uren, Anne Loeser, Mette Leroy, Richard Haynes, Johnny Chang, and Donald Nicolson.
