Biography
Pieta Hextall is a Christchurch-based composer and musician. She has recently returned from Melbourne, where she was an active member of the music community playing in a number of bands and ensembles including Umlaut, Progetto Corelli, and various orchestras. Pieta graduated from the New Zealand School of Music in 2012 with a MMus. She is currently studying a MTchLn at the University of Canterbury.
Pieta has had works performed and workshopped by the Hawthorn City Brass Band, Preston Symphony Orchestra, Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra, the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, the New Zealand String Quartet, the New Zealand School of Music Orchestra, Capital Brass, Christchurch Youth Orchestra, Gao Ping, Andrew Uren, Anne Loeser, Mette Leroy, Richard Haynes, Johnny Chang, and Donald Nicolson.
