About

frames is a set of shorter ideas; each unique in character and in energy.

noun. a rigid structure that surrounds something such as a picture, door, or windowpane.
noun. a basic structure that underlies or supports a system, concept, or text.
noun. a single complete picture in a series forming a cinema, television, or video film.
verb. place (a picture or photograph) in a frame.
verb. formulate (a concept, plan, or system).

In each of these different ‘frames,’ the saxophonist explores different motifs, and different relationships with the orchestra. The soloist interacts and responds to the rigid structure that surrounds them in the orchestra, slowly breaking free from this structure throughout the piece.
