Along with the other pieces in the First Suite, this has a somewhat tongue-in-cheek title. There's a whiff of Beethoven about the music, with its sudden shifting between loud crashes and gentle melody. After the piece was written, I had an image of Beethoven hammering impatiently on someone's door, no doubt having forgotten his key, or his manuscript paper, or who knows what. The opening echoes the famous opening of the Beethoven's 5th Symphony - in the loosest sense.
