not here, but present explores processes of approximation between two rather distinct sound worlds, finding a common space for them to interact. A point of intersection between many continua, the piece unfolds as a series of fragmented utterances - stutters - disjunct and extended, discrete. From this mutual awkwardness, a conversation ensues, interrupted by sudden outbursts, mitigated by a series of strained voices. This piece is, above all, an interplay of extremes - dynamic, gestural, textural, sonic - and a statement on the collision of the heterogenous: that beautiful collision that we as a society of individuals yearn for.
