About

‘Fractures: In Memoriam’ is written in memory of those lost in the Christchurch earthquake of 22.02.2011 which has left an indelible mark on the city and its people. It was first Westminster Abbey, London, on the fourth anniversary of the Christchurch earthquake. This piece aims to capture a glimpse of the initial devastation of the disaster itself, before moving into a reflective tribute and then exploring the hope and rejuvenation that the city and its people have since experienced. It was originally commissioned and performed by organist Jeremy Woodside.
