OCT and University of Waikato Composition Competition 2023

Tertiary and secondary school students are invited to submit a musical composition between 2-5 mins for any combination of 3 instruments or more from the following list:

• Flute
• Clarinet
• Bassoon
• Horn
• Violin x 2
• Viola
• Cello
• Double bass
• Piano

Up to six compositions will be selected to be rehearsed, performed, and recorded by OCT Ensemble, conducted by Rupert D’Cruze, Sunday 20 August 2023 10am - 12pm. Works by the selected composers will also receive expert feedback from Rupert D'Cruze, Dr Michael Williams and Dr Lucien Johnson. Two winning compositions will be announced on the day — one tertiary and one secondary level.
