At the World's Edge Festival

Festival

Three masterfully curated events. Three breathtaking locations. Three venues designed to capture the very beauty of sound itself. The environment nurtures us, the landscapes sway us, the mountains fuel us - but the music connects us.

Designed for the young and the old, the new to chamber music and the long-standing enthusiasts alike, the 2021 AWE Festival is about forging connections and sharing experiences, providing a new stage for classical music in our beautiful region.

Mata-au (Wanaka) — Fri 15th Oct, 7.30pm
Confluence (Cromwell) — Sat 16th Oct, 7.30pm
Kawarau (Queenstown) — Sun 17th Oct, 5pm

More than a series of intertwined live events in Wanaka, Cromwell and Queenstown, we are a platform for the arts in our stunning region and a spark for creativity to come. Find out what we stand for and take your seat at the inaugural AWE Festival.

Follow the journey of our five composers — Felix Mendelssohn, Robert Schumann, Johannes Brahms, Clara Wieck, Reena Esmail and our NZ Composer-in-Residence Salina Fisher — whose works intertwine throughout our three 2021 AWE Festival performances.

Experience classical music like never before, in a series of intimate settings that invite you to be still, be inspired, and be a part of the very music itself.
