“Goddess and Storyteller” pits the Greek goddess Athena against the oral traditions of Chinese storytelling.
The terrifyingly raw power of Xenakis's LA DÉESSE ATHENA (The Goddess Athena) and KASSANDRA are softened by the vibrant colours and lyrical brilliance of NZ/Chinese composer Gao Ping's SHUO SHU REN — THE STORYTELLER.
Rounding out the programme is a work by NZ composer Dorothy Ker which receives it's New Zealand premiere.
