Born: 1949

Biography

Born in Burmingham, England, Cilla McQueen is one of the finest poets of her generation, being the New Zealand Poet Laureate for 2009–2011. In addition to her poetry, she has also composed graphic scores and worked in collaboration with composers such as Chris Cree Brown. Cilla’s poetry has been set to music by New Zealand composers including Antony Ritchie, Gillian Whitehead, David Farquhar and Kathryn Lauder.
