Programme Note
‘Reclamations’ for violin and piano was composed for the Ngāti Kahungunu violinist Elena. It is a simple piece and the title refers to experiences we both share with returning to music after a significant absence. ‘Reclamations’ is a brief ode to music and music making. It is about the ongoing process of ‘reclaiming’ music back into our lives.
