Programme Note

These two short pieces were written at the request of English conductor Janet Lincé for her group Choros. The stipulation was that the pieces be to do with Advent rather than Christmas, and that the choir needed to be able to rehearse them reasonably quickly. The two texts are from hymns of unknown authorship. The first tells of the stars watching the various characters associated with the Christmas story, the shepherds and the wise men, while the second focuses particularly on the shepherds.
