Programme Note
The lively medieval carol, Gaudete was made popular by the group Steeleye Span, in the 1960s. This arrangement shares the tune of both the verse and chorus among the players. At certain points there is a degree of musical development. The 1st and 2nd descant and the 1st treble players require a degree of skill to perform the semiquavers passages in the final presentation of the chorus.
