Programme Note

This mystical poem by the Persian 13th Century poet, Rumi, makes links between music, love and people’s ability to reflect spiritual principles. The setting requires a very competent choir with awareness of mood changes between the statements ‘we are the flute’. The placement of the small number of sopranos at a distance will enhance the ethereal effects.
