About

The opening bars depict horror at news of  Rena's grounding. We await the turn of events effecting the inhabitants of the ocean and its Bay of Plenty beaches. For a short time life proceeds as normal. Sea creatures splash in ocean swells until sinister oil slicks insinuate deathly contagion toward shore. Ocean life becomes stifled.

In time nature's order is part restored, but the feeling remains that something has been irretrievably lost to future generations. Rena's broken hulk is a grim monument.

(bowing is at the discretion of the performers.)
