About

In music ways, Marathon expresses the drama, pain, anxiety, euphoria, jubilation and achievement of marathon running. The tape delay serves to intensify the rhythmic patters in the piece, setting, on the one hand, a canonic layer that the cellist projects, and, on the other, a web of sound which attempts to simulate the glide and speed of various participants in the marathon.
