Hikoi and Journey are two albums cut from the same cloth. Journey elaborates on the source material of Hikoi, which started life as a musical conversation between two life-long friends, Richard Nunns (taonga puoro) and Paul Dyne (bass). Journey features Tim Hopkins (sax), Jorge Sosa & Dave Lisik (electronics), and Amy Rempel (piano). These brother and sister albums are fascinating to compare, Hikoi predominantly intimate and minimalist, while Journey is layered and sonically more expansive.
