'Tui' finalists announced
02 Sep 2010 09:28The finalists for the Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards have been announced. The winning artists are set to be honoured at the 45th annual Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards when the red carpet is once again rolled out at Vector Arena in Auckland on October 7.

The 'Tui's are presented in more than 20 categories and include the Tui for Best Classical Album of the Year. This year the finalists for this award are:
- Flourishes – NZTrio
- UKIYO – John Psathas
- Sketches – Strike Percussion
- Father & Son: Wagner Scenes & Arias – Simon O’Neill
The first three are no strangers to the award. John has previously won Tuis with his albums View From Olympus (2007), Fragments (2004) and Rhythm Spike (2000). NZTrio were finalists in 2008 with bright tide moving between and in 2006 with Spark, and Strike won the Tui in 2001 for their eponymously named album Strike.
The Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards 2010 are owned and hosted by the Recording Industry Association of New Zealand (RIANZ) which is a non-profit organisation representing major and independent record producers, distributors and recording artists throughout New Zealand.
