  • Stolen Music - New Compositions by Matthew Davidson
CD

The second CD of the same title for this album was taken from a statement from a fellow composer, who said of a work that he had written was “stolen music” because it consisted of transcriptions of non-Western music. And although there may be some who say of my work, “it’s not original!”, well, no one was ever original, not even J. S. Bach, Chaucer, and Dali, and it never hurt them a bit! (Not to place myself in such exalted company just yet, hopefully the point has been made.)
