The Amoris Consort: Carr, Seiber and Salzedo |
Recorded at Aiglon College Chapel, Villars, Switzerland in August 1996, this CD by the Amoris Consort lead by Jennifer Paull (oboe d’amore) features Edwin Carr’s Waiheke Island as well as two works by Salzedo and his arrangement of Seiber’s Liechte Tänze.
Gordon Hunt, Principal oboe, Philharmonia Orchestra, London noted in Double Reed News, “This is all 20th century music but very approachable. Edwin Carr’s portrait of Waiheke Island, where he lived near Auckland, is cleverly written for this ensemble.” and Tamara Turner, awarding it five stars, concluded in her review of this CD, “Don’t miss this elegant work of art.”
