The Five Bagatelles were composed in Christchurch in late 1942, but have remained unpublished until now.
Bagatelle No. 4 – better known as From the Port Hills – was given its first performance by Noel Newson in December 1942, and has been recorded by Margaret Nielsen on Kiwi-Pacific SLD-78.
