“This original music has been scored for solo cello parts by renowned New Zealand composer Martin Lodge. James Tennant is the cellist. Martin sent me a number of short melodic phrases and various texture or sound studies for cello. This work was recorded by One Fat Man Productions and some material digitally altered also. I then “re-composed” the sound to fit with my visual edit of the film. The sound for the film only exists like this and is intrinsic to the complete work."

Dance music for violin, piano, squeezebox and percussion

It can be performed live as well, in part or in its entirety, though some effects are better achieved through the recording. The work is in nine sections which run continuously.

This work was composed for violinist Paula Smart and pianist Terence Dennis, who first recorded the work in March 1999.

This work was composed whilst Farr was still performing regularly as a marimba soloist, and was taken from Farr’s title theme music of the New Zealand television series “Duggan”. This etude includes contrasting sections that evoke both the tense and dark-hued nature of the television series, as well as the scenic grandeur of the Marlborough Sounds.
