Connections is an annual event which celebrates the strong relationship between Opus and the University of Waikato’s Music Department. This programme promises to be an event to remember. It includes the World Premiere of Michael Williams’ Triple Concerto – a work specially commissioned by Opus, and also features the 20-year old winner of the University’s 2008 Concerto Competition, Jisun Kim. Jisun will present her winning performance of the Haydn Cello Concerto in C. The entire programme will be under the direction of the orchestra’s Music Director, Dr Peter Walls.

Performers for Williams’ Triple Concerto are the New Zealand Chamber Soloists, also fellow lecturers at Waikato University, Lara Hall (violin), Katherine Austin (piano) and James Tennant (cello).
