The New Zealand Musicological Society conference will be hosted by the University of Waikato Music Department from 15–17 November 2008.

Keynote speaker will be Dr Philip Norman , composer and author of the book Douglas Lilburn:his life and music (Canterbury University Press 2006), which won the prize for biography in the Montana Book Awards for 2007.

In this conference there will be a special, but not exclusive, focus on the life and work of
Douglas Lilburn . Members of the Society, students and members of the public are all welcome to attend. Students coming from outside Hamilton are eligible for grants to assist with travel costs.
