The aim of the Readings, a collaborative project of SOUNZ and the NZSO, is to increase the performance of orchestral works by New Zealand composers.

In this instance due to a short run-in period, rather than call for submissions in the usual way the selection panel chose five works from among those that had previously received a Reading. These were rehearsed and then recorded to broadcast standard by Concert FM.
