Asia Pacific Festival

The Asian Composers League Festival and Conference 2007 will be hosted by CANZ and based in Wellington. Musicians and ensembles who will perform during the festival include the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, the New Zealand String Quartet, the Tower New Zealand National Youth Choir, percussion group Strike, the New Zealand Trio, pianist Gao Ping, Dutch percussionist Arnold Marinissen and the Korean Contemporary Music Ensemble. Furthermore Asian puppetry, gamelan performances and Asian theatre/cabaret can be heard and seen during the Festival. The four day Conference, with the internationally acclaimed Evan Ziporyn (composer/performer, USA) and Richard Nunns (taonga puoro specialist) as keynote speakers, promises to be a notable occasion.
