Tuhonohono comprises Richard Nunns: taonga puoru, Ramonda Te Maiharoa-Taleni: voice, Ingrid Culliford: flute, Ashley Brown: cello, Ben Hoadley: bassoon, and Emma Sayers: piano. Tuhonohono specialises in the music of Gillian Whitehead. This concert celebrates Matariki and is a collaboration between The Edge and Chamber Music New Zealand as part of the latter’s Encompass Series.

The works presented in this concert include Te ao marama for voice and taonga puoro; Taurangi for flute and piano; Journey of Matuku Moana for cello; Aria from Outrageous Fortune: ensemble; Nga ha o nehera (two movements) for bassoon; Hine Raukatauri for taonga puoro and flute; Arapatiki for piano; Hine te Kakara for voice, taonga puoro, flute, bassoon, and cello.
