The NZSO perform as part of their 12 centre international tour.

Among the works in their touring repertoire are Douglas Lilburn’s iconic Overture Aotearoa and a new work from Ross Harris, Three Pieces for Orchestra, especially written for the tour. Commissioned by NZSO CEO Peter Walls and his wife Kathryn, the work is a musical reflection on three great European cities within the context of composers strongly associated with them. The ‘movements’ are Vienna (Mahler), Düsseldorf (Schumann) and Lucerne (Wagner).
